Spring Term

Hello!

I finally got to the U.S! I'm in my dorm now.
I had great time in Japan though my stay was only two weeks.
I was healed very much in Japan. Actually, I was depressed and obsessed by some annoying occurrences for a month, but I got much better because I met my friends and family! I’m almost completely recovered♪
When I coming back to Japan, I realized I am an Japanese because there are many people who has similar point of view as me.
And, I'll never forget the day of coming age!

I think that's finally got a memory. It's a precious memory of my childhood.

And I promised me to change myself.
Yesterday, I attended my first class in spring term.
It was drawing.
The class was small. There were less than 20 people.
We introduced ourselves one by one and began drawing.
We did "Blind Contour Drawings."

It was a interesting way to practice drawing.

We drew the face of our partner WITHOUT SEEING the paper on which we were drawing.

そろそろ英語で書くの疲れてきたので日本語で。

そして先生が言うには、「ゆっくり、自分の目が物の輪郭をとらえるのと同じ速さで描きなさい。決して急がないで。指でそのものをなぞるように。」

案の定描いたものはぐっちゃぐちゃになるんだけど、これは自分の眼と手の感覚の差異を見て、また、ものの輪郭を正確に捉える力をやしなってくれるそうです。たぶん。

宿題はあともう３枚、何かblind contour drawingで描くこと。なんて楽な・・・！！

でも楽とか言ってちゃだめな気もするな。まじめにやろう。人よりもっとやらなきゃ。

宿題のために３つは描いたけど、急がないってとても難しい。なんだか飽きちゃってどうしても急いじゃうしなんとなくテキトーになってくる。

でもやっぱりこのつまらない作業は重要なんだ。やらなきゃな。

 

I had two classes today.

One of them was Introduction to Philosophy.

There was no Japanese, but I found some international students so I was relieved.

Today’s class was introduction to this class. The teacher distributed the schedule and explained what he’ll teach in this class.

He spoke a little fast, but I was barely able to understand him. I thought his lecture was interesting, so I’m looking forward to the next class!

The other was Graphic Design.

It was very small class. There were only 6 students include me.

It was hard. Same as Intro to Philosophy, today’s class was only an explanation about what we’ll learn, but teacher and students spoke fast so I couldn’t catch up…

I have to improve my English.

Today’s assignment was to think about the difference between art and graphic design.

That’s what I really wanted to ask my teacher-------lol

I found that the definition is very difficult even for graphic designer. (My teacher is a graphic designer.)

Maybe this class will be hard…

But I’ll make effort!

I wanna gain many things, and I think I can! So I’ll do------------
